Swatch: Pretty and Polished Cheer Camp

This is Pretty and Polished and I believe this will be discontinued by Pretty and Polished soon. It's such a pity because this is such a GORGEOUS polish. It's very feminine, made up of soft pastel glitter and the formula is as usual perfect. Nothing that Pretty and Polished come up with could go wrong. I'm not sure if this is still available, but if it is, do get your hands on this!

She does international shipping as well, and trust me, she has been getting plenty of orders from me since. =)

Jelly Sandwich with Glitterdaze Girl Gone Wild

A jelly sandwich! Finally!

Continuing from the previous post, I proceeded to do a jelly sandwich with OPI Bubble Bath and Glitterdaze Girl Gone Wild. I have yet to swatch Girl Gone Wild and it's staring at me from my untried box, trying to guilt trip me. Well, at least I managed to use it once.

This is done with 2 coats of Bubble Bath, 1 coat of Girl Gone Wild, 1 coat of Bubble Bath, and finally China Glaze Fairy Dust for some sparkle.

Reswatch: OPI Bubble Bath

I did a reswatch of OPI Bubble Bath recently. It had been on my to-do list for some time but I never did got around to it until now. My previous swatch wasn't too good so I wanted to do a new one.

Bubble Bath was among my firsts bottles when I started collecting them. It was highly praised so I thought I'd tried it out. Sadly, I was disappointed. At that time, I didn't know it was a jelly (I thought all polishes are cremes) and it was so different in terms of application. I also didn't appreciate that there was still visible nail line after 3 coats. The bottle got dumped into a corner after that.

Now that I knew better, I must say, Bubble Bath did deserve all praises. It is a perfect palette cleanser for those of us who are used to all sorts of colors and patterns on their nails. The photo below are 2 coats of perfection.

Hope you like the reswatch!

Gold and Black Classic

Remember my Lord Of The Rings nails? I didn't do it on both hands (That's seriously too hard) so I did stamping on my right hand. This is done with China Glaze Passion for the base and Liquid Leather for the stamping. The plate is Bundle Monster 314.

How's my awkward right hand post? Not to shabby right??

Swatch: China Glaze Orange You Hot?

This is the swatch for the Orange You Hot? used in the previous post. I only have one sad photo so there you go! This is 3 coats of its own. No underwear is needed, it shines neon on its own!! Isn't that awesome. Kudos to China Glaze for coming up with this collection of awesome polish: the Summer Neons. It has a shimmer as well! Orange You Hot? is a jelly-finish polish.

Neon Houndstooth Design

I've been waiting to used this design from a while. It's from BM 322. I used China Glaze Orange You Hot? and Liquid Leather for the stamping.

Notice the odd index nail? Sometimes I hate asymmetric designs because it will almost certainly ends up looking out of place on one of the nails. The stamping wasn't as crisp as I would like, but I do love the contrast of black and neon orange.

Ikat Nail Design

Hi! I'm back with Ikat Print nails! Kayla Shevonne put up this tutorial for it last night when I was brainstorming for something to put on my nails so I just did that. It was easy to do, other than the black strokes part. I was supposed to use a 'slight flicking motion' which I have no idea, but I tried to copy her look. She had more spaces between her lines.. Oddly, my left hand was able to do what my right hand couldn't. The nails on my right were more irregular, and 'strokish' (I know that's not a word, LOL.)

I used OPI Do You Lilac It? as the base, and HolikaHolika 28 for contrast. The black and white are China Glaze Liquid Leather and OPI Alpine Snow. I used my new BornPretty liner brushes for the black strokes.

I do like this design, although sometimes I think it looks like hairy balls of fire. Other than that, it does look like Ikat Print. I wondered if the triangles were too close on my other fingers, and if it was actually supposed to look like my middle nail where there is a space between the two print. What do you think?

Swatch: PrettyandPolished Valentino

PrettyandPolished has been around for a very long long time. I believe it was one of the few pioneers in the indie industry. I saw swatches of Jawbreaker, Pool Party and Valentino a year ago, but the shop only shipped within the US. Now it has international shipping (HOORAY!!!) and I want to collect it all!!!

Valentino is a black and white glitter polish. The polish, as I've come to expect, is awesome. This is only 1 coat each! There's a HUGE white glitter but I didn't like that so I avoid it. Isn't this awesome? Reminds me a little of cookies and cream.and Oreos!!

The base is OPI Did It On 'Em

Swatch: OPI Did It On 'Em

This polish completed the cremes of my OPI Nicki Minaj collection. There are 3 polishes I absolutely lusted after: Fly, Pink Friday, and this one, Did It On 'Em.

Did It On Em' is a bright lime green. This is 3 coats.

I'll be pairing this with a glitter as usual, so stay tune!

Swatch: LushLacquer Pink Panther

Continuing my swatches.. This is LushLacquer Pink Panther. It's a pink, white, black glitter suspended in a clear base. There're supposed to have bigger glitters but I like this one without the big glitter. I rather like this combination!

This is 2 coats of Pink Panther with some dabbing. No top coat. The base is OPI Thanks a Windmillion.

Can you tell I'm trying to be efficient in my swatching? Lol. Both glitters and base polishes came from my untrieds.. That's the way it has been for some time.. I really need to use all my polish!!

OPI Thanks A Windmillion

Another OPI polish swatch! I got this when I have money to spare.. Lol! I probably should think ahead and put them in the bank but somehow the polish addict in me always give in. Maybe I need rehab.

This is OPI Thanks A Windmillion. This is 3 coats. The first picture is more accurate than the second in terms of colors. Sometimes my camera acts oddly.

Please ignore the smudge on the bottle cap. =(

Thanks a Million for dropping by!! =)

Swatch: OPI Pedal Faster Suzi!

This was from a while ago but I'm only putting it up now.. I thought I'd better try to clear all the backlog.

This is OPI Pedal Faster Suzi! I bought it even though I thought I could do without it. Sigh. Is it worth the buy? I'm no longer sure. There are only a few colors I'm using everyday.. or even once every two weeks.. Maybe I should come up with a rotating schedule for the polishes.

This is 3 coats, I believe. Sorry for the lousy lighting. This was taken in a long line of swatches and I only realized it looks bad when I transferred it over to the comp. It's a shimmery pastel pink.

Thanks for dropping by!!

My Four Franken Swatches with a *BONUS

I've been rather diligent at swatching lately so I have plenty of swatches coming up. Everytime I did a bout of swatching, I'm amazed at how some blogs could do 3-4 posts each week.. I'm bored to tears by the time I reach for the third bottle, and swearing on the fifth. I guess I'm more of a wear-a-few-days polish girl.

Anyway, what I have for today, are a few of the frankens I made. I wanted some bright jellies and I didn't want to spend any money.. plus I just can't find out where to get bright colored jellies so I just mixed them myself. It's pretty easy. I get a base color and some topcoat (which I have plenty off - I like TheFaceShop ones best- no dry fast please) and empty bottles. You can get empty bottles from MeiMei's Signatures. She's having a discount: buy five 5ml bottles for $10, and get 1 bottle free. There'll be metal balls included too.

So, the first polish is a bright blue jelly. The base is OPI No Room For The Blues! This is 2 coats. I'm aware of bald patches, but I didn't put another coat because I wanted to layer a glitter over it to show how well it works in a jelly sandwich. You can see it in the bottom right photo (there'll be another post on this sandwich) where I layered it over Glitterdaze HotShot. Swatch and more photos coming up soon!!

I named this Cloudless Sunday Sky.

Next, I pulled out HolikaHolika 28 from my Malaysia Haul recently. I accidentally got 2 bottles of this colors.. but since it's buy 2 get 1 free, and I got 3 sets in total, I'm not going to be picky over it. Okay.. I do mind a teeny tiny bit. My boyfriend helped me named this. This is 2 coats I believe. A squishy orange with a touch of coral. The pictures doesn't show the coral but in real life, it's pinker.

This is Honey Melon

I love YELLOWs!!! Yellow is an instant cheer-me-up! Of course I'll make a yellow jelly!! The base of this is from Elianto S01, a bright yellow. I got the bottle from my trip to Malaysia as well. I hadn't swatch it yet. I threw in a touch of OPI Don't Touch My Tutu, and OPI The 'It' Color. This is 2 coats too.

I named this Recipe for Sunshine

Lastly, I have a lime green jelly. I made this from Elianto S02, an extremely bright green. I added OPI Don't Touch My Tutu because I wanted it to be paler, and ended up with this lime green. This is 2 coats as well.

This is Lime Concoction.

BONUS: If you're still reading... (thank you!!) here's where I threw in an extra swatch of my previous franken.

This is Fiercely Fiona Franken. I like the alliteration. =)

I wanted OPI Fiercely Fiona a few months too late and when I started hunting them down.. they were all discontinued ! So I tried to make my own franken and this is what I came up with. This is three coats. I corrected the consistency this time round. =) It's lime from certain angles and yellow in some lighting!! Love this!!!

That's it!! I certainly have fun mixing these babies up!! Thanks for staying with me!!

Gold Roses over Green

ontinuing from the last post.. I stamped over the OPI Jade is the New Black with China Glaze Passion and BM Plate 323. My roses aren't very crisp so it looks blurred.

I've got something different coming up for the next post so just wait up, alright?

Swatch: OPI Jade Is The New Black

I have been lemming for this for some time, looking for the perfect dark green. This is it! OPI Jade is the New Black is just what I'm looking for. The OPI Fly was what I used to substitute whenever I need a dark green. While it is awesome (!!!!!!) I have another green to add to my stash.

This is 3 coats. Without topcoat.

Of course I'm not leaving it like this.. so I added something to it.. That's the next post though!

Thanks for dropping by!!

PrettynPolished: Elvis' Pink Cadillac

I hope you're not sick of polishes from PrettyandPolished.. because I've got A LOT coming. Lol. This is Elvis' Pink Cadillac, a light pink with plenty of black hex glitters. It reminds me of pink Dragonfruit.

I like how the glitters are layered due to the jelly consistency of the base. This is a pretty polish, though not my favorite. I doubt I could pick one polish to be the best though.

PrettynPolished: It Gets Better

I thought I'd start the year with a Charity Polish. This is from PrettynPolished, It Gets Better. You can read more about the Charity stuff here, but let's move on to the pics because that's what you're here for, no?

This is 3 marvelous coats, smooth as butter. As always.

Isn't it awesome to be indulging ourselves and support a cause at the same time?
